Dr. Misbah Tanveer Choudhry is an economist and academic with extensive experience in research, teaching, and policy engagement, currently serving as Assistant Professor at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), LUMS, and Director of the Centre of Business and Society. She holds a PhD in Economics and Business from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, with a research focus on demographic transitions, labor market dynamics, and economic growth. Over the past two decades, Dr. Choudhry has developed a strong research portfolio that intersects gender studies, financial inclusion, and youth employment, with a particular emphasis on developing and emerging economies.

Her scholarly work has been widely published in leading academic journals such as the International Journal of Manpower, Applied Economics, and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence, exploring issues like school-to-work transitions, female labor force participation, productivity challenges in informal sectors, and the impact of financial crises on labor outcomes. She has authored multiple case studies and research reports on women entrepreneurship and economic empowerment and has served as lead researcher on numerous international development projects in collaboration with institutions like Cowater International, the Packard Foundation, and Karwan Craft. Her work has been recognized with several prestigious grants, including a major U.S. government grant (USD 170,000) for directing the Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Program.

Dr. Choudhry is committed to translating research into impact. She has designed and led executive training programs on gender-sensitive budgeting, leadership, and digital enablement of women entrepreneurs. Her teaching portfolio spans courses in business strategy, microeconomics, entrepreneurship, public policy, and managerial economics across MBA, EMBA, MS, and PhD programs. A proponent of experiential and case-based learning, she has received formal case teaching and writing training from Ivey Business School, Canada. 

In addition to her academic and administrative roles, Dr. Choudhry serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Manpower and is on the Advisory Council of the Harvard Business Review. She is an active member of professional networks including the Global Labor Organization, European Economic Association, and Groningen Growth and Development Centre. Her research excellence has been recognized through best paper awards, advisory positions, and editorial responsibilities. Through her scholarly leadership, she continues to shape the discourse on inclusive development, gender equity, and labor market transformation in emerging economies.
